Your 1 km leg, in mile pace.
Every run leg of a HYROX race is 1 km. Your watch, your treadmill or your training plan may talk in miles. Type either one and get the other, and what the eight legs add up to.
Type a 1 km leg time, like 4:45, or a mile pace, like 7:39, and the other fills in as you type. Below them: the pace per kilometre and per mile, the eight legs at that pace, and the eight legs again with the fade the Why Not app plans into its race board, each leg two seconds slower than the one before.
The eight legs, with the fade
Honest label. The fade is an estimate: the Why Not app’s race board plans each run leg 2 seconds slower than the one before, and this converter applies the same 2 seconds a leg from the pace you typed. The totals are running only: the stations and the Roxzone are not in them. For a whole finish split into legs, stations and the Roxzone, use the HYROX calculator.

The app trains your race legs at one pace and times every leg of your bricks and simulations. Leave an email and get one message when Why Not is live. Nothing else, ever.
Why the legs fade.
Eight kilometres between stations is not eight fresh kilometres. The app’s race board, the one it seats for every Hybrid Race plan, plans the first leg quickest and each one after it 2 seconds slower, so the eighth leg is 14 seconds off the first. Over eight legs that is 56 seconds on top of eight even legs at your first leg’s pace.
In training the app does the opposite of fading: your 1 km repeats run at one pace, the faster of your goal’s leg pace and the pace your own running already holds, the same split every rep. More on that on the HYROX for runners page.
The arithmetic
One mile is 1.609344 km. A 1 km leg in seconds times 1.609344 is the mile pace; a mile pace divided by 1.609344 is the 1 km leg. Both are rounded to the second.
The fade is the Why Not app’s own (constants/hybridRace/bands.ts RUN_FADE_SECONDS_PER_LEG, ported line for line and held to the app by a test). Everything runs in your browser; nothing you type is stored or sent.
